Core i3 Build – Corsair XMS3 4GB Memory
Posted in Computing on 06. Apr, 2010
Going through the QVL (Qualified Vendor List) to check which memory is recommended for use with the P7P55D, a 4 GB set of Corsair DDR3 modules caught my eye. They run at a maximum of 1333 MHz, although you can of course overclock them. Given the fact that there is no plan to overclock the machine, and the need to keep costs low, this set of 4GB DDR3 seemed perfect.
Corsair is a great manufacturer of reliable desktop pc memory. The 4GB pack has two 2GB DDR3 modules. The motherboard which has been purchased (Asus P7P55D) has four memory slots which run in a dual channel setup. The 4 slots on the motherboard allow up to 16 GB of memory to be installed. 4 GB will also work well with Windows 7 Home Premium.
